8Verified guest“Once you work out the routes, the buses and metro are easy to use. I booked a triple for my wife, mother, five-year-old twins and myself, assuming we could manage; the hotel wasn't keen at check-in, saying that's not how it's done in Rome, but they eventually brought an extra bed so we were comfortable. The buffet breakfast was decent, and for a budget-conscious family I'd recommend it.”
8Verified guest“Breakfast came with Nutella, pastries and a panoramic view. The location felt unbeatable, with an underground station within walking distance of the hotel.”
8Verified guest“I really liked the garden setting next to the room. It's an easy ten-minute walk to the train station, and the English-speaking staff were helpful.”
8Verified guest“The reception staff were excellent, the room was nicely decorated and quiet, and there were good continental breakfast options.”
8Verified guest“The staff provided really good service.”
8Verified guest“A wonderful, old-fashioned hotel with nice garden views. The location is marvellous, very quiet yet close to Rome's main sights, San Lorenzo, Termini Station and the main railway station. There's also great food at a nearby rooftop restaurant.”

The bottom line
Ateneo Garden Palace is a calm, dependable base in San Lorenzo: good breakfast, helpful staff, and an easy walk to metro, station and the Roman Forum. Rooms are the weakest part, so book for the location and service rather than the décor.
